WHAT IS THE ILLINOIS SHOCK ALL ABOUT?

The Illinois Shock is a professionally operated travel basketball organization serving 3rd – 8th grade players from Naperville, Aurora, Plainfield and Oswego communities. The Shock maintains operations in Supreme Courts, one of the largest privately held gyms in the state.

The Shock, unlike other clubs, provides year round training and competition with professional coaches providing college level direction for each team, along with a variety of age specific skill development programs. Additionally, we provide personal one on one training options for specific improvement needs. The Shock commits to incremental improvement for every player, while communicating improvement opportunities for each player.

The Shock management team is full time professionals committed to providing the very best player and family experience. Our custom training programs, tournament options and feedback system are designed to challenge and enhance team development, all with certified college level coaching to help each player achieve their maximum potential. Our goal is to watch committed players develop into successful high school players.

When playing for the Shock you’ll be exposed to the very best that youth basketball can offer. The Shock player can count on first class tournaments, leagues, player development and a staff that truly is commitment and cares about your child’s development.

MOTION 360 - Player Development & Feedback System

  • “Motion 360” represents the key fundamental requirements to improve a player’s performance.
  • We focus on incremental improvement as every child develops different both physically and mentally.
  • Our end goal is to have a player fully skilled in basketball fundamentals and positioned for success upon entering High School.
  • Team practice establishes the foundation of how to work effectively as a team member, the player’s role on the team, how to help your teammates succeed, and how to compete.
  • Coach evaluations and goal setting are critical to establish player baselines for improvements. So often coaches scream at kids to do more and give more effort, but provide little direction as to how to improve.
  • Our coaches typically have an extensive basketball background, with most playing at the college level.
  • Our coaches are trained in proper communication and required to keep families informed with schedules and tournament information.
  • All coaches provide player feedback with detailed goals and improvement objectives.
