Fall 2016/2017 Coach Assignments 


John Bajusz
4th Grade Coach

Coach Bajusz has been coaching with us for many years. He attended high school locally at Benet Academy where he was an All-State player. He was recruited to Cornell University (Ivy League) where he had a Hall of Fame career, finishing with school records for scoring, games played and free throw percentage. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Cornell, Army and North Central College. Coach Bajusz is a great teacher and has a great ability to transfer his basketball knowledge and experience to young players.

Karen Arakawa
5th Grade Coach

Coach Karen is in her first season with the Attack. She was a starter for all four years on the Varsity team at Niles North in High School. Karen then played basketball at Northern Michigan University where she was a standout point guard and captain of the team from 1984-1988. From there she moved on to obtain two Bachelor degrees in education and her Masters degree in educational administration. Most recently, Coach Karen returned to her alma mater, Niles North, where she was an exceptional physical education teacher for 13 years while also coaching the Girls Cross Country team, Varsity Track and Field, and the Varsity Basketball coach.

Bill Nash 
6th Grade Coach

Coach Bill is in his second year with the Attack. He played varsity basketball at Hillsdale HS in Michigan where he was team captain and earned All-Conference honors his senior season. Bill has been highly involved with youth basketball for many years. This will be his 5th year of coaching travel basketball. His primary goal is to see kids have fun and develop into fundamentally sound players. He will encourage kids to work to improve their weaknesses in games as well as practices.

John Plummer

David Brown
6th Grade Coach

Brown finished his career as one of the most productive players in Bronco history, leading the team to 2014 MAC regular season and Tournament championships as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance. He finished his career ranked eighth in career scoring at WMU with 1,536 career points, third in career three-pointers made with 217, and tied for first in games played with 135 career appearances in the Brown and Gold. Brown's best campaign came in 2013-14 when he led the MAC in scoring at 19.1 points per game, earned First Team All-MAC honors and captured the MAC Tournament MVP trophy with 32 points against Toledo in the championship game.



Tyson Chapman
7th Grade Coach

Coach Tyson has been with our program since 2008. He has coached numerous teams of all ages. Tyson played collegiately at Beloit College (WI) where he was Team Captain for 2 years. Tyson is also the assistant Varsity Basketball Coach for Milton HS in Milton, WI. Tyson believes helping youth athletes develop basic, fundamental skills early will fuel a desire and love for the game because the game gets easier as you go along when you are fundamentally sound. His practices are full of energy, hard work, and fun. He is also the Director of Illinois Attack and Player Development for Supreme Courts.


Shaun Collins
7th Grade Coach

Coach Shaun Collins is in his first season with the Attack. He attended and played college basketball for Oakton Community College and North Park University. He has been a youth basketball coach for the past 5 seasons. Along with coaching for the Attack, he currently coaches 8th grade football, and 8th grade girls’ and boys’ basketball at Cowherd Middle School on Aurora’s eastside. He has also been heavily involved with East Aurora’s Men’s and women’s feeder programs. You may have also noticed Shaun as a trainer with M14 this past season! Coach Collins says “I believe sports are very important to youth and can be used to benefit players in many different ways. I look at it as a way to give back to the sport I love and to the community I grew up in. Some of the best times of my life happened in a sports atmosphere, and I want to help create some of these experiences for the youth.”

David Lozano
7th Grade Coach

Coach Lozano brings a genuine passion for the game of basketball and coaching youth. He has played basketball his entire life from grade school to college and is currently pursuing a degree in coaching at Aurora University. David comes with a military background, serving 5 years in the US Marine Corps. He played basketball locally at Oswego East HS where he earned Conference Player of the year and All-Area honors. He played at Aurora University as well as being a member of the All-Marine team while in the Marines.

Chris McMath
8th Grade Coach

Coach McMath has been coaching for a few seasons and begins his fifth season with us. Chris was a HS standout at Plainfield North before moving on to play at Aurora University. He trained with Coach Wolfe and Coach Harrell while he was in high school as a prize shooting-pupil. He also spent 2 seasons as HS Varsity assistant coach at Plainfield North and Joliet Catholic. Chris relates well with his players has gained respect as a player’s coach. Chris also serves as the head of the Jump Start program at Supreme Courts.
